Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the weather cancellation policy?
A: Turf: We will almost never cancel except for lightning
Grass: Depends on how long it has been raining and the conditions of the field. We also take into the account that it is difficult to keep stats during rain.
Players are notified a couple hours before game time via email and facebook posts.
Q: Where do you play?
A: We change fields occasionally between seasons but generally our outdoor games are played at JC Harmon High School & Little Mill Creek Park. While our indoor games are played at 68's Inside Sports & KCK Athletic Zone
Q: What type of uniforms do we need to wear?
A: Team uniforms should be as close to matching as possible and all are required to have numbers on the back side. Yes, you may just draw them on with black marker.
Q: How do I register?
A: All registration is done through www.kcsportsleagues.com. You can find upcoming events and leagues by clicking the Registration button on the left hand side. You do not need to pay the entire amount at registration, but a deposit is required to hold your spot.
Q: Do I need an entire team to register?
A: Not necessarily, each season we leave a slot open for a "free agent" team. Check the registration for openings.
Q: When do you play? When do the seasons start?
A: Currently we run one Season per season (fall, winter, spring, summer). Also, tournaments will be run in between these seasons.
Q: Who is His Dirkness?
A: Horse manure's not that bad. I don't even mind the word manure. It's newer, which is good, and a ma in front of it. Ma-Newer. When you consider the other choices, manure is actually pretty refreshing.
Q: You're the commissioner, isn't it unfair/cheating that you both play and ref in your own league?
A: This league has one main focus: for the players, by the players. Playing and reffing my own league allows me to see what works and what doesn't. It is my aim to create the best overall experience for you and make it easy for you to come to me with ideas on how the league can be improved
Not to mention, this is the best league in Kansas City, why wouldn't I play in it?
Q: I have questions or concerns that aren't answered in this FAQ page. I also have ideas on how KC Metro Flag Football can improve as a league. What should I do?
A: Click the Contact Us button on the left hand side and send me an email. I would love to hear from you.
